CEDAR VALLEY PRIDEFEST
We're excited to host the third annual Cedar Valley's Pride event on Saturday, August 23, 2014 from Noon to Midnight.
The event takes place in the street on the 300-block of West Fourth Street in Downtown Waterloo. We close off the street to house the Bud Light Stage where live music, female & male impersonators, a roller derby show and much more! The street also features food and beverage vendors, information booths and much more. DIRECTIONSFrom Cedar Rapids:
Take I-380 Northbound to Waterloo. I-380 becomes US-218 in Waterloo. Follow US 218 to “Downtown Riverfront” exit on the right and park under the highway at 5th or 4th Street. From Des Moines: Take I-35 North to US-20 Eastbound (Exit 142A). Follow US-20 to US-63 Northbound (Exit 227). Follow US-63 North and to Downtown Waterloo. Turn right on Jefferson St to W 4th Street. From Dubuque: Take US-20 West to Waterloo. Exit to US-218/I-380 North at Waterloo. Follow US-218 to “Downtown Riverfront/Washington Street” exit on the right and park under the highway at 4th or 5th Street. From Minneapolis: Take I-35 Southbound to Iowa Exit 190, take ramp right for IA-27 South to Mason City/Charles City. Follow IA-27 for approximately 82 miles to US-218 exit for “Airport/Waterloo”. Follow US-218 South for 6 miles to Exit 180 “Sullivan Brothers Convention Center/Downtown Riverfront”. Turn left on W 4th Street and park under the Highway. When you call (319-233-7560) ask for the Cedar Valley Pridefest rate and you will get your room for $69 + taxes for the night. The hotel just down the street from the festival about half a block. For more details on the Ramada Hotel, please visit their website. PARKINGThere will be plenty of parking around Downtown Waterloo on cross streets. The most convenient parking will be located under the viaduct of US Highway 218 where it meets West 4th Street, Park Avenue and West 5th Street.

ABOUT THE BOARD
Cedar Valley Pridefest is made up of volunteers from Eastern Iowa to help celebrate diversity of lesbian, bi-sexual, gay and transgender members of our community. Our all volunteer board meets to plan and organize details of the event. Starting in June, the group meets weekly on Monday evenings. We are currently looking for both committee group volunteers and event volunteers.
Our Mission Cedar Valley Pride Fest will highlight the diverse gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgender community of Eastern Iowa in a positive and informative manner in an effort to promote acceptance, understanding and equality. |
